2016: Rand Paul, Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush?

Ron Paul Rand Paul 2016Who will be US President in 2016?

I’m not really and truly sure.

Today is November 23rd 2014, the election is still two (2) years down the road, and I don’t know of any way to tenably predict an election which is still so far away.

I’m a 34 years of age white American who has been called, and perceived as, a n-word-lover (not white enough for empty-headed crackers) his entire life.  Throughout the last 34 years I’ve ascertained that many white Americans (regardless of class and intelligence levels) are largely pea-brained in some ways. In any event, here is my estimate:

As I’ve stated in the foregoing, many white-Americans are largely pea-brained in some ways so there’s probably really no chance for any other political parties aside from Democrat and Republican in 2016.

If there’s to be a Democrat in the White House in 2016 her name will be Hillary Clinton.   However, if for some reason it’s not physically possible for her to run for 2016 (e.g., death, illness or severe mental disability) then there might be room for US Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Why Hillary Clinton?  Because, that’s just that way it is.

If there’s to be a Republican in the White House in 2016 his name will either be Jeb Bush or Rand Paul.

Why Jeb Bush and Rand Paul?

Jeb Bush:

First let me state that I would never support Jeb Bush for President (2016 or any other year).  He’s an exceedingly worthless reprobate but, unfortunately, he probably has an exceedingly solid chance at winning the election for 2016.  Aside from the obvious, e.g., he’s member to the Bush dynasty, the following are listed in support of my conclusion:

1.   Jeb Bush understands and speaks the Spanish language:

It should be noted that I believe that President Jimmy Carter spoke Spanish.  I also think that President George W. Bush could sort of speak Spanish.  I’ve also heard that Newt Gingrich has tried, somewhat without success, to learn Spanish.

2.  Jeb Bush is married (since 1974) to a Mexican woman. Her name is Columba Garnica Gallo Bush and she was born and raised in Mexico.  They have three (3) children together.

3.  Jeb Bush’s secret weapon: Latino Bush.  Who is Latino Bush?  Answer: his son, George Prescott Bush.

His son was born in Houston, Texas in 1976.  He’s an attorney, U.S. Navy Reserve Officer and a politician (he’s also real estate investor).

He studied at Rice University and earned his Juris Doctordegree from the University of Texas School of Law (2003).

In 2014, he was elected Texas Land Commissioner.

Rand Paul:

I support Rand Paul for President 2016.  I’d prefer his father, Ron Paul, for 2016 but I don’t believe that his father will run this time.

Rand Paul appears to advocate many of the beliefs that his father holds.  From what I’ve been able to ascertain, Ron Paul is the only (aside from PERHAPS his son Rand Paul) contemporary (yes, I know, he retired in Jan. 2013, but you know what I mean) member of US Congress who has not been bought and who does advocate the US Constitution.

There was a time when I looked up to US Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) but those days are gone.  I am grateful for his help (I’ve written to him for approximately 13 years now) in the past but a few years ago I ascertained (and even more so after he advocated Joni Ernst, R-IA, for US Senate in November, 2014) that he was bought long ago.

In any event, there’s just too much to write, and (unfortunately) too little time for me to do so at the moment, for me to adequately tell readers more about Rand Paul (and his father Ron Paul) here in this report.

I suggest reading more about US Senator (R-KY) Rand Paul and also his father Ron Raul who has served as a US Congressman (R-TX) on three (3) separate occasions beginning in 1976 and ending in 2013.

It should also be noted that Ron Paul (Rand’s father) is a physician and has been a Republican Party presidential candidate twice (2008 & 2012) and also the presidential nominee of the Libertarian Party for US President 1988.

  1. Rand Paul: Romney run is the ‘definition of insanity’

    The Hill
    By Jesse Byrnes
    January 14, 2015, 02:29 pm

    Excerpt:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a likely 2016 presidential contender, took a shot Wednesday at a possible rival, saying it was “the definition of insanity” for Mitt Romney to launch a third White House bid.

“It’s sort of what Einstein said, that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result,” Paul told the New Hampshire Journal.

“A couple of months ago he said that he’d had his chance and it was time for somebody new. He was probably right when he said that,” Paul added. “I think we do need somebody and something new.”

Paul told the Journal on Wednesday that Romney and Bush “occupy the same space and are competing somewhat for the same voters — people who want something that is safe, something that is sort of historical.”

“But even people who are looking for ‘safe’ realize that ‘safe’ hasn’t won in the past,” Paul said.

  2. Conservatives shrug off Bush and Romney, remain confident in base-friendly hopefuls

    The Washington Post
    By Robert Costa
    January 14, 2016

    Excerpt:

Conservative leaders this week shrugged off the sudden moves by Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney toward 2016 presidential campaigns, saying the two establishment-friendly candidates are too far out of touch with grass-roots activists to win the Republican nomination.

At the same time, potential candidates with close ties to the party’s conservative base have moved to speed up their own efforts in response.

Senior advisers to several of the potential conservative candidates said Wednesday that GOP insurgents will have to do more in 2016 than they did in previous cycles to make a serious run for the Republican nomination. Building a campaign nest egg and winning the support of mega-donors to fill the coffers of allied super PACs has become a particular priority.

Not all on the right are ready to rule out backing Bush or Romney. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), an immigration hardliner, said Wednesday that he has invited Romney to speak later this month at a conservative gathering in Des Moines, and he urged activists to give the former nominee a fair hearing.

“He may not be able to come to our event because of scheduling conflicts, but he knows the door is open and we made sure we rang the doorbell,” King said.

A Romney representative did not respond Wednesday to an e-mail inquiry about King’s invitation.

Bush decided in December to bypass King’s event, citing his own scheduling issues. Bush is one of the rare Republican contenders to turn down King, who has sparked controversy for his comments about illegal immigrants. Cruz, Paul, Santorum and Christie, among many others, are planning to appear.

  4. Romney exit jolts 2016 GOP field

    The Hill
    by Jonathan Easley
    Jan. 30, 2015

    Excerpt:

Mitt Romney shook up the 2016 GOP field on Friday with his announcement that he won’t be seeking the presidency for a third time.

In a call with supporters early on Friday, the 2012 nominee said it’s time to “give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee.”

“I’ve been asked, and will certainly be asked again if there are any circumstances whatsoever that might develop that could change my mind,” Romney said. “That seems unlikely. Accordingly, I’m not organizing a PAC or taking donations and I’m not hiring a campaign team.”

Potential GOP candidates were respectful in their responses to the former Massachusetts governor’s decision, which came after a surprising three week flirtation with another run.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush thanked Romney for his service and said he hopes his “days of serving our nation and our party are not over.” Sen. Marco Rubio said he “deeply respect[s]” Romney’s decision to “give the next generation a chance to lead.”

Romney took an apparent swipe at Bush — the son and brother of two former presidents — on his conference call. The two are among the most recognized names in the party, and Romney said he was confident that someone in the huge field of GOP contenders, likely “one who is just getting started,” would emerge to defeat the Democratic nominee.

“I believe that one of our next generation of Republican leaders, one who may not be as well known as I am today, one who has not yet taken their message across the country, one who is just getting started, may well emerge as being better able to defeat the Democrat nominee,” Romney said.

  5. Rand Paul slams Bush ‘hypocrisy’ on pot

    The Hill
    by Alexander Bolton
    Jan. 30, 2015

    Excerpt:

DALLAS — Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) accused Jeb Bush of hypocrisy after The Boston Globe reported the former Florida governor was a heavy marijuana smoker while at an elite prep school.

Bush opposed a Florida medical marijuana ballot initiative last year even though he partook liberally of the herb while in high school.

“You would think he’d have a little more understanding then,” Paul told The Hill while en route to a political event in Texas.

“He was even opposed to medical marijuana,” Paul said of Bush, a potential rival in the 2016 Republican presidential primary. “This is a guy who now admits he smoked marijuana but he wants to put people in jail who do.

“I think that’s the real hypocrisy, is that people on our side, which include a lot of people, who made mistakes growing up, admit their mistakes but now still want to put people in jail for that,” he said.

“Had he been caught at Andover, he’d have never been governor, he’d probably never have a chance to run for the presidency,” he added.

Bush told The Globe in a recent interview about his four years at Phillips Academy in Andover, one of the nation’s most prestigious prep schools, “I drank and I smoked marijuana when I was at Andover,” explaining the behavior was “pretty common.”

Paul dinged Bush for now opposing the legalization of marijuana for medical use.

The Kentucky senator has spoken extensively about the need to review the efficacy of the nation’s war on drugs and reconsider harsh prison sentences and other penalties for non-violent offenders.

“I think in politics the biggest thing, the thing that voters from any part of the spectrum hate worse than anything is hypocrisy. And hypocrisy is, ‘Hey I did it and it’s okay for me because I was rich and at an elite school but if you’re poor and black or brown and live in a poor section of one of our big cities, we’re going to put you in jail and throw away the key,’” Paul said.

Paul has hinted at using marijuana in the past.

  7. Do people like US Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) (may run as Democrat or Republican) and US Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) stand a chance for 2016?

I’m not implying that I support either of them. I’m just wondering what others think of them and their odds (if there are any) for 2016.

  8. Bruce says:

The 2016 Senate election in NH is still 1.5 years away and a lot can happen in the interim. According to the recent poll discussed in the following article, I judge the two potential candidates (Ayotte-R and Hassan-D) to be currently fairly evenly matched.

IF (1) Ayotte follows through on her run for reelection in the NH Senate in 2016, and (2) the NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS SERIOUSLY EMBARRASSED BY THE FORTHCOMING REVELATIONS BY TEAM ARPAIO CONCERNING OBAMA , then I believe Ayotte has an EXCELLENT CHANCE of continuing to serve as a NH Senator.

Hassan leads Ayotte in NH Senate poll

    The Hill
    Jonathan Easley
    2/17/2015

    Excerpt:

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) leads Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) in a potential Senate match-up for 2016, according to an NBC News-Marist poll.

Hassan takes 48 percent support over Ayotte at 44 percent, the survey found. Seven percent said they’re undecided.

Ayotte announced in November she would seek reelection to the Senate in 2016, and she’s moving quickly to marshal her resources. Last week, Ayotte hired a campaign manager, Ben Sparks, who served in the same role for now-Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) in his 2014 victory over former Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska).

Ayotte had more than $2 million cash on hand at the end of 2014, according to Federal Election Commission filings. She has also been mentioned as a potential GOP vice presidential candidate.

Hassan has not said whether she intends to run for Senate in 2016. She just won reelection as governor of New Hampshire in November, but she’s the top prize for Democrats seeking a formidable challenger to Ayotte. Since gubernatorial terms in the Granite State are two years, she’d have to choose between running for Senate or reelection as governor, too.

  11. Here is a statement from the one presidential candidate who actively supports the legalization of medical marijuana nationwide! “ACP urges review of marijuana’s status as a schedule I controlled substance and its reclassification into a more appropriate schedule, given the scientific evidence regarding marijuana’s safety and efficacy in some clinical conditions… ACP strongly supports exemption from federal criminal prosecution; civil liability; or professional sanctioning, such as loss of licensure or credentialing, for physicians who prescribe or dispense medical marijuana in accordance with state law. Similarly, ACP strongly urges protection from criminal or civil penalties for patients who use medical marijuana as permitted under state laws.”You can read more and support her campaign on her site http://denisebedio.com/marijuana. If Bernie Sanders runs against the EXPECTED Republican nominee, Donald Trump, I believe he will be totally DEMOLISHED in the election, and members of the Democrat Party will face very serious electability problems at both the state and national levels for many future years.

See: “Bernie Sanders Might have an Electability Problem” (Politico – 1/29/2016) – http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/bernie-sanders-might-have-an-electability-problem-218432

HOWEVER, if for some unforeseen reason TRUMP DOES NOT become the Republican nominee — WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN! Avowed ‘Democratic Socialist’ Bernie Sanders might indeed win the 2016 election. (After all, it’s hard to out-promise ‘Santa Claus’ giving away ‘free stuff’ and our economy can probably limp along for awhile until the socialists run out of other people’s money.)

Fight the soulless juggernaut: Big money, machine politics and the real issue separating Sanders and Clinton

Democrats face a stark choice: A money-mad, scandal-plagued establishment, or the potential of decency and change

    Salon
    Camille Paglia
    2/25/2016

    Excerpt:

Despite Bernie Sanders being tied with her for pledged delegates after last weekend’s Nevada caucuses, the media herd has anointed Hillary Clinton yet again as the inevitable Democratic nominee. Superdelegates, those undemocratic figureheads and goons of the party establishment, are by definition unpledged and fluid and should never be added to the official column of any candidate until the national convention. To do so is an amoral tactic of intimidation that affects momentum and gives backstage wheeling and dealing primacy over the will of the electorate. Why are the media so servilely complicit with Clinton-campaign propaganda and trickery?

Democrats face a stark choice this year. A vote for the scandal-plagued Hillary is a resounding ratification of business as usual–the corrupt marriage of big money and machine politics, practiced by the Clintons with the zest of Boss Tweed, the gluttonous czar of New York’s ruthless Tammany Hall in the 1870s. What you also get with Hillary is a confused hawkish interventionism that has already dangerously destabilized North Africa and the Mideast. This is someone who declared her candidacy on April 12, 2015 via an email and slick video and then dragged her feet on making a formal statement of her presidential policies and goals until her pollsters had slapped together a crib list of what would push the right buttons. This isn’t leadership; it’s pandering.

Thanks to several years of the Democratic party establishment strong-arming younger candidates off the field for Hillary, the only agent for fundamental change remains Bernie Sanders, an honest and vanity-free man who has been faithful to his core progressive principles for his entire career. It is absolutely phenomenal that Sanders has made such progress nationally against his near total blackout over the past year by the major media, including the New York Times. That he has inspired the hope and enthusiasm of an immense number of millennial women is very encouraging. Feminists who support Hillary for provincial gender reasons are guilty of a reactionary, reflex sexism, betraying that larger vision required for the ballot so hard-won by the suffrage movement.

The Democratic National Committee, as chaired since 2011 by Clinton sycophant Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has become a tyranny that must be checked and overthrown. Shock the system! Here are the flaming words of one of my heroes, Mario Savio, leader of the Free Speech Movement at the University of California at Berkeley. In 1964, he declared from the steps of Sproul Hall to a crowd of 4,000 protesters: “There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart that you can’t take part! You can’t even passively take part! And you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop!”

A vote for Bernie Sanders is a vote against the machine, the obscenely money-mad and soulless juggernaut that the Democratic Party has become. Perhaps there was a time, during the Hubert Humphrey era, when Democrats could claim to be populists, alive to the needs and concerns of working-class people. But the party has become the playground of white, upper-middle-class professionals with elite-school degrees and me-first values. These liberal poseurs mouth racial and ethnic platitudes, acquired like trophy kills at their p.c. campuses, but every word rings hollow, because it is based on condescension, a patronizing projection of victimhood onto those outside their privileged circle. There is no better example of this arrogant class bias than Wellesley grad Hillary Clinton lapsing into her mush-mouthed, Southern-fried dialect when addressing African-American audiences.

Sanders is no Communist, bent on seizing centralized control of business and industry. He is a democratic socialist in the Scandinavian mode, where social welfare is predicated on cooperation and shared sacrifice. Whether such a system can work in the vastly larger and more culturally diverse U.S. is another matter. The financial viability of his proposals would certainly be stringently vetted by Congress, which holds the purse strings of the national budget. But Sanders’ attack on the crass excesses and unpunished ethical lapses of Wall Street is a great awakening call, at a time when the U.S. has disastrously lost its manufacturing base and when the super-rich have accumulated proportionally more wealth than at any time since the Gilded Age of the late 19th century.

  18. I’d like to see Trump vs Sanders in the general election.

That’s probably what the people would like to see, as well.

It’s just that the mainstream media (or whoever controls them) seems to control the outcomes of everything political.

The mainstream media will probably leave us with Trump vs Clinton.

I had my hopes up in the past for Ron Paul (2008, 2o12) and then, to some lesser degree, for his son Rand Paul (2016).

I’d like to see Bernie Sanders get the Democratic nomination. Not that I really and truly know everything about him or even agree with his positions.

It’s much the same way that I feel about Trump.

I just don’t want to listen to a Bush, a Clinton or any other person who will just say anything and everything for votes.

Although I do sense that Trump will say anything for votes too and then later just do whatever he feels like doing.

However, it appears that Trump uses his own money and doesn’t rely on some huge backer(s) who will control him later.

Much like Bernie Sanders receives nearly all of his support in the form of relatively small donations (more donations than any other candidate I believe) and wont have some huge backer(s) who will control him later.

I do thank Trump for knocking Jeb Bush out of the race!

Just for having knocked Jeb Bush out I’ll consider giving Trump my vote.

I hope too that Sanders will knock wall-street-backed-Hillary Clinton out of that race too but it appears at this point that the mainstream media (and whoever controls them) may have other plans.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie offered up the latest twist of the Republican presidential primary when he endorsed Donald Trump on Friday, saying the GOP frontrunner is “rewriting the playbook of American politics.”

The backing from his vanquished primary opponent came the day after Trump found himself under fierce attack from Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz in the final debate before next week’s critical Super Tuesday nominating contests.

“The single most important thing for the Republican Party is to nominate the person who gives us the best chance to beat Hillary Clinton,” Christie said at a news conference in Fort Worth, Texas. “I can guarantee that the one person Hillary and Bill Clinton don’t want to see on that stage come next September is Donald Trump.”

“He is rewriting the playbook of American politics because he is providing strong leadership that is not dependent upon the status quo. The best person to beat Hillary Clinton in November is undoubtedly Donald Trump,” Christie added.
