"Jimmy Sturr se distingue par une abondance de cuivre contrairement à ses confrères tels que (feu) Frank Yankovic ou Walter Ostanek qui eux utilisent l'accordéon.
Il est déconseillé, selon moi, d'écouter un album complet de J.Sturr, il peut y avoir saturation.
Toujours est-il que ses albums se distinguent par une extrème richesse de reprises toutes issues de styles très divers : Country, rock, Chicanos, Cajun, traditionnel polonais...
Autre distinction, les personnes invitées sont de très grand vocalistes, entr'autres Willie Nelson ou Rhonda Vincent mais surtout des chanteurs embauchés pour la totalité de l'album, tels que Walt Solek ou Gene Wisniewski.
A noter que le chanteur attitré du band est Johnny Karas.
Perso j'ai 7 CD de Sturr et si je dois en recommandé un c'est sans aucun doute "Pure Polka" sortit en 1997, album uniquement assortis de potpourri Polonais, chanté dans cette langue en majorité. une vraie perle!"
