Our family included quite a few wonderful Great Pyrenees dogs over the years, as well as many playful kittens.
Our Pyrs were loyal, strong and gentle, which is typical of the breed, but they could also be very courageous and fearsome whenever danger threatened.
We were privileged to have them as family pets. However, Great Pyrenees are still widely used by farmers as working dogs for guarding livestock from predators such as wolves and sometimes even bears.
