    Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day -- Wednesday, July 1, 2012

My wife and I just returned from a late, approximate 1:30 pm, 'special appreciation lunch' at the nearest of our many local Chick-Fil-A restaurants. The facility was packed with a large, enthusiastic crowd enjoying lunch and showing their support.

The 'event' was extremely well handled by the management. As a result, we had to wait in an in-store line only a short time and, after placing our orders, were brought our food reasonably promptly by one of the many restaurant staff members on special duty to handle the large crowd. The restaurant also appeared to have many 'volunteers' working in various capacities that helped speed the process immensely. The food, which was brought directly to the dining tables during this event, was GREAT!

    Chick-fil-A 'Set a World Record'

    The Weekly Standard

    Daniel Halper
    8/2/2012

    Excerpt:

"Pastor Rick Warren reported last night on Twitter that fast food chain Chick-fil-A "set a world record" yesterday. His claim is based off a phone call he had with Dan Cathy, the CEO of Chick-fil-A who ignited a culture war when he expressed his preference for traditional marriage."

Traditional Marriage Supporters Flood Chick-fil-A Eateries Across Nation

    Newsmax

    8/1/2012

    Excerpt:

"Two former Republican U.S. presidential candidates encouraged people to eat at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday to show support for the chain restaurant as it weathers criticism for its president's public opposition to gay marriage.

Business was so brisk at one Chick-fil-A location in the company's corporate hometown of Atlanta that two employees directed traffic in the parking lot.

Dubbing the effort "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day," conservative former candidates Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum said supporters would send a message about "traditional values" by eating a meal at one of the privately owned chain's more than 1,600 locations.

"The goal is simple: Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick-fil-A," Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and current Fox News Channel personality, said on his website."
