  • The Catholic? (MUSLIM) roots of Obama's Presidency -- WTPOTUS, Miri

    Mad Monday

We the People of the United States

    Miri
    3/24/2014

    Excerpt:

It’s Monday and, as usual, I’m mad. Angry. Perturbed. Annoyed. Vexed. Splenetic. Love that last one. Why am I mad? Well, it’s Monday and this is the Obamanation. As simple as that.

Michelle and her mother and daughters are still on their most excellent adventure in China, blowing through taxpayer dollars at an alarming rate.

The Cold Case Posse keeps promising “universe shattering” evidence, but also keeps putting off the “reveal”.

Obama remains his usual snarky self, traveling the world on our dime. This week he’s off to Europe, Saudi Arabia (will he bow this time?), and to meet the Pope. I’ve heard, however, that things won’t go as swimmingly for him with the Pope as expected. Time will tell. The big meet is Thursday.

This is probably guaranteed to annoy anyone. A story in the New York Times explains (I swear I’m not making this up):

The Catholic Roots of Obama’s Activism

A few nauseating excerpts, with emphasis and comments, in brackets, added:

In a meeting room under Holy Name Cathedral, a rapt group of black Roman Catholics listened as Barack Obama, a 25-year-old community organizer, trained them to lobby their fellow delegates to a national congress in Washington on issues like empowering lay leaders and attracting more believers. …

By the time of that session in the spring of 1987, Mr. Obama — himself not Catholic — was already well known in Chicago’s black Catholic circles. He had arrived two years earlier to fill an organizing position paid for by a church grant, and had spent his first months here surrounded by Catholic pastors and congregations. In this often overlooked period of the president’s life, he had a desk in a South Side parish and became steeped in the social justice wing of the church, which played a powerful role in his political formation. [That's one way to spin MARXISM in the guise of religion] …

In 1967, as the modernizing changes of the Second Vatican Council began to transform the Catholic world, Ann Dunham, Mr. Obama’s mother, took her chubby 6-year-old son occasionally to Mass and enrolled him in a new Catholic elementary school in Jakarta, Indonesia, called Santo Fransiskus Asisi. At school, the future president began and ended his days with prayer. [Muslim or Catholic? The writer doesn't say, merely implies.] At home, his mother read him the Bible with an anthropologist’s eye. …

In 1969, Mr. Obama transferred to a more exclusive, state-run school with a mosque, but a development in the United States would have a greater impact on his future career. American Catholic bishops responded to the call of the Second Vatican Council to focus on the poor by creating what is now known as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, an antipoverty and social justice program that became one of the country’s most influential supporters of grass-roots groups. …

But even as Mr. Obama effectively proselytized for the church [OMG. What a stretch. "Effectively" proselytized] and its role in improving the community, and even as he opened meetings in the backs of churches with the Lord’s Prayer [I'd like to hear that] and showed a comfort with faith that put the people he hoped to organize at ease, Catholic doctrine did not tempt him. He was not baptized Catholic, priests said. But it was amid the trappings of Catholicism, according to his fellow organizers, that the future president began to express a spiritual thirst. …

Hmm. He didn’t begin his spiritual thirst in Indonesia, where the call to prayer struck him so? Anyway, you got the picture. Can we look forward to the next installment, focusing on

The Muslim Roots of Obama’s Presidency?

Don’t hold your breath for that one. Notice how the public school in Jakarta just “had a mosque,” no mention of the fact that all students were Muslim and studied Islam in class, or that Barry himself, who opined that the Muslim call to prayer is one of the most beautiful sounds on this Earth, was a student of menjagi, something that not all students pursued, only the most devout of Muslim students.

… Tine Hahiyary’s recollection of a young Obama who was quite religious and actively took part in mengaji classes. A claim that would seem to differ from Obama’s much publicized statements that he was not raised in a particularly religious household.

While the word “mengaji” means to either learn or study, however, the actual usage of the word “mengaji” in Indonesian and Malaysian societies means the study of learning to recite the Quran in the Arabic language rather than the native tongue. “Mengagi” is a word and a term that is accorded the highest value and status in the mindset of fundamentalist societies here in Southeast Asia. To put it quite simply, “mengaji classes” are not something that a non practicing or so-called moderate Muslim family would ever send their child to. To put this is perhaps a Christian context, this is something above and beyond simply enrolling your child in Sunday school classes.

The fact that Obama had attended mengaji classes is well known in Indonesia and has left many there wondering just when Obama is going to come out of the closet.

He memorized the Quran in Arabic, but his “spiritual thirst” “began” only in Chicago, amongst black Catholics.
