Bloomberg News reports: Obama Says Racial Animus Blunts Approval, New Yorker Reports
President Barack Obama said that racial tensions may have softened his popularity among white voters within the last two years, according to a story posted on the New Yorker magazine’s website today.
“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.
“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,” Obama said in his most direct comments on how race has affected his political standing since he’s been in office.
Obama’s second term has been marked by controversies including a partial government shutdown in October, revelations that the National Security Agency has gathered personal mobile phone data and the troubled rollout of health-insurance expansion.
Obama’s approval rating among all voters is 39 percent and his disapproval rating is 53 percent, according to a Gallup Poll conducted Jan. 14-16. The opening statement is completely illogical. How does someone who was not racially biased 2 years ago, all of the sudden base their judgement on Obama today on race ? ? That is an absurd statement and a clear indication that Obama is deflecting the reality of his destructive policies on a straw man argument.

History will prove that this is absolutely the worst FRAUD ever perpetrated upon the AMerican people. It will take time, but I know in my heart it will happen.

Astonishing chutzpah for the President to play the race card at this point, after HE stoked tensions repeatedly by interfering with the Trayvon Martin case, selectively NON-enforcing our immigration laws, selectively ignoring black racist attacks on white citizens, and jumping in on the Harvard Professor Affair before he actually had the facts. Obama's actions on this issue parallel his general, very broad incompetence. He makes Jimmy Carter look brilliantly decisive and prepared by comparison.

His approval rating among blacks is still over 75% even though his overall approval rating is under 40%. Why aren't blacks considered racists? They seem to be supporting him mainly because of his skin color. Why is that not racist?
