Exclusive: Obama Birth Certificate Challenger: White House Birth Certificate Image “Useless”
“IF YOU OR I WERE TO DO THIS, WE’D BE IN JAIL”
By Sharon Rondeau | The Post & Email
(Feb. 5, 2014) — On January 28, Michigan gubernatorial candidate Mark McFarlin held a press conference in which he challenged Barack Hussein Obama to request the release of a certified copy of his original paper birth certificate to show a clear chain of custody of the record from the Hawaii Department of Health to him for the public to observe.
--------------------------------------
In an exclusive interview with The Post & Email on Monday, McFarlin pointed out that the image posted by the White House lacks a raised seal from the registrar’s office which he said renders it “useless.”
When we asked McFarlin in what form Obama might respond to the challenge he has issued, he said, “I think that if he were to create a press release, he would duplicate the process. That’s what we’re pushing for: for him to duplicate the exact process, because you can’t break the chain of evidence here. The way it was done before – and I don’t understand why Mr. Trump allowed this – was that Obama’s handlers, his attorneys, supposedly handled this, and then scanned it onto the White House site. You can’t do that; you can’t authenticate anything from that. The way I did it, it came right from the Vital Records Director’s deputy.”
---------------------------------------
The Post & Email observed that the Hawaii Department of Health indicated in 2009 that a 2001 policy revision at the Hawaii Department of Health allowed for the release of only the short-form certificate after the Obama birth certificate controversy arose, to which McFarlin responded:
THE POST & EMAIL: Even if you went in and said, “All I want to do is look at it?”
MR. MCFARLIN: Yes, they wouldn’t allow me to do that. And in most states, that’s the case, because they feel as if it’s their responsibility to store the records.
THE POST & EMAIL: We always think of birth certificates as ours, but they are government records.
MR. MCFARLIN: Yes, they are, because they’re storing them and they control them, and for good reason, because you don’t want them out there for anyone to be able to access. So when you request that copy, or, say, an attorney, with the proper legal papers, could request a copy, you’re getting that scanned original. When I look at mine compared to Obama’s, there’s no comparison.
THE POST & EMAIL: I was just going to ask you if there are differences.
MR. MCFARLIN: There’s a big difference because this paper is the paper that most states are using where it shows the state in the background. It’s a watermark paper, so if it’s copied, it will show “VOID” through it. There’s the raised seal; there’s the registrar’s stamp. You can tell that it’s authentic, but if you look at the birth certificate on the White House website, it doesn’t have a seal. A birth certificate without the seal – that’s fine if you just want your birth certificate – but it’s useless. You can’t do anything with it; you can’t obtain any other records with it. Really, it’s useless.
THE POST & EMAIL: So that image, lacking that one element, could be considered inauthentic or uncertified?
MR. MCFARLIN: It makes one think that if one is going to present this to the world, he would pay the extra cost to get the raised-seal birth certificate. You would think his attorneys would have handled it. There must be a reason why they didn’t.
THE POST & EMAIL: That’s true ; they never questioned why there’s no raised seal, although they might say nothing in public to avoid any more focus on the issue.
MR. MCFARLIN: It would be very difficult to duplicate that; that’s why.
THE POST & EMAIL: You’ve probably heard that NBC “Today Show” anchor Savannah Guthrie (page 28) claims to have received a copy of Obama’s birth certificate which had a raised seal after the press conference on April 27, 2011. [U.S. District Court petitioner] Douglas Vogt named Guthrie as a defendant in the public deception regarding the birth certificate forgery.
MR. MCFARLIN: I hadn’t heard that, but just because someone states that she has handled that, it can’t be verified. It can be verified only by actually seeing it. That holds no water with me, because we could take a look at mine now, and I can prove that this came from Vital Records. Just because someone states something doesn’t mean it’s true. Where is it? How would she have received it?
THE POST & EMAIL: She didn’t say how she obtained it, and no one can explain why no other reporter got the same thing. I recall that an attorney from the Associated Press informed me that the AP did not receive a copy with a raised seal and that a FOIA request would have to be submitted to get one.
MR. MCFARLIN: Even with a FOIA request, they won’t release it. Birth certificates are not public records. The only exception to that rule in Michigan is if the person whose birth certificate is requested is more than 100 years old.
THE POST & EMAIL: So you are asking Obama to fly to Honolulu after requesting a certified copy of his birth certificate?
MR. MCFARLIN: Yes, he would have to arrange for a scan of the original, long-form birth certificate with the raised seal and stamp. He would have to arrange for the press to be there and film this, because I invited the press. We’re really giving him the benefit of the doubt here; we’re giving him a chance to bring this out and put an end to it. We’re certainly suspicious of it, but we’re giving him the benefit of 30 days to make some type of statement. It’s a very simple thing to do; he’s in Hawaii a lot; he can do this.
THE POST & EMAIL: He could have done it during his Christmas vacation which cost taxpayers at least $4 million.
MR. MCFARLIN: Right.
THE POST & EMAIL: What do you think of the sudden death of Hawaii Health Department Director Loretta Fuddy?
MR. MCFARLIN: It’s certainly suspicious, and we’d have to look at it. Certainly, the odds have to be astronomical…you’d have to look at the other passengers. She was 64…?
THE POST & EMAIL: I believe she was 65. I saw an obituary which stated her birthday was in April and a Facebook post appearing to have been posted by Fuddy herself stating that her birthday was December 4.
MR. MCFARLIN: I’d want to look at the toxicology report and see if there was anything in her system. That would be important.
THE POST & EMAIL: Her assistant, Keith Yamamoto, reportedly described her as having simply “let go” of his hand while they were floating in the water awaiting rescue. To me, his account seems unemotional, detached, with many unanswered questions.
MR. MCFARLIN: I guess you could put together a theory that with Maricopa and Honolulu and sniffing around, maybe she felt as if the house of cards was falling and she was retracting what she had said. That would make sense.
THE POST & EMAIL: Is there anything else you’d like to say about your proposal to Obama?
MR. MCFARLIN: I’d like to say one thing: If it is proven that the birth certificate is a fraud, then what we have is really obstruction of justice. We would certainly have a treasonous act and a felony. If you or I were to do this, we’d be in jail. It’s kind-of like when Clinton was in trouble: if he had just admitted to it, it wouldn’t have been a problem. It’s the fact that he obstructed justice by saying, “I wasn’t involved.” This is one thing of which we have proof, because we have proof that the White House put this out. It’s unlike anything else, such as the Social Security number, that they can try to hide behind. This is one thing where I think they made a vital mistake, although it did quiet a lot of people down.
This could be a call to Mr. Trump. He needs to come back into this. My question is, “Why did he stop?” He had experts look at it, and they told him it wasn’t real.
THE POST & EMAIL: They did?
MR. MCFARLIN: Yes, it’s been reported. You know that he would do this: if you’re going to go to the extent of pushing the president to the point of displaying the birth certificate…To me, that only leads to two possible scenarios: one, that he was complicit with Obama to set this up to basically silence people and say, “OK, here’s his birth certificate,” but I don’t think that’s it. The other possibility is that he or his family were threatened. I think that I’m leaning more towards that because it just makes sense.

I had questions about that, too. Copeland said that in Michigan, as in any state, they have a responsibility in Vital Records to store the originals. Because they don’t want to be taking them in and out and damaging them in any way, exposing them to light, etc., what they do is scan the originals. So when you request a copy, you’re getting that exact scan from that original, then you have the registrar’s stamp and the seal. That’s what we’re requesting from Hawaii: that the same process be followed. I believe that in Hawaii, even the president wouldn’t be able to view the original.
THE POST & EMAIL: Even if you went in and said, “All I want to do is look at it?”
