Poll Finds Two-Thirds of Republicans Back Impeaching Obama

A new YouGov poll finds that overall, a third of Americans support impeaching President Obama, and impeachment is supported by two-thirds of Republicans polled.

YouGov posed this question: “Do you think there is or is not justification for Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Obama at this time?” (You’ll notice the contrast in the following graphic with how people answered during the Bush administration.)

61 percent of those polled believe Obama has abused his powers as president, but they differ on how they should be handled. 17 percent (of the total polled) say those abuses aren’t strong enough to warrant impeachment, 32 percent say they are, and 12 percent say they are, but he shouldn’t be impeached.

So presumably, any political figure comprising that two-thirds of Republicans is nobody of relevance.
