Is Obama the Original DREAMer?
WHITE HOUSE OCCUPANT APPEARS TO BE “UNDOCUMENTED”
by Sharon Rondeau
(Jun. 10, 2015) — According to a February report published by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), between 2009 and 2014, more than two-thirds of the work permits “issued to aliens with temporary visas or those who entered under the Visa Waiver Program” were provided to illegal aliens in violation of federal law.
The CIS revealed that fewer work permits were granted to legal aliens than those residing in the country illegally or those whose status was reported as “unknown,” using statistics obtained from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) through a FOIA request.
The Center’s director for policy studies, Jessica Vaughan, called the practice of issuing work permits to illegals “a huge parallel immigrant work authorization system outside the limits set by Congress that inevitably impacts opportunities for U.S. workers, damages the integrity of the immigration system, and encourages illegal immigration.”
Vaughan further expounded that “A huge number of work permits, 1.7 million, were issued to aliens whose status was unknown, not recorded by the adjudicator, or not disclosed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the agency that processes the applications. This should be a concern; work permits are gateway documents to driver’s licenses and other benefits, and if the government agency issuing them does not know or will not disclose how the bearer arrived in the country how can others rely on the authenticity of an individual’s identity? It is equally disconcerting if the government does know and chooses not to disclose it.”
On June 3, 2015, The Washington Times reported that nearly 4,000 illegal alien criminals deemed “Threat level 1,” or the highest priority for deportation, were released into American communities from detention as they awaited court decisions on deportation. As communicated by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte to The Times, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had the option to continue to incarcerate the aliens described by the publication as “the worst of the worst.”
Obama has pledged to deport “felons, not families” in statements issued since November 20, 2014, when he announced that he would unilaterally change immigration policy after previously claiming that he was constitutionally unable to take action on his own. His proposed executive actions included a stay of routine deportation proceedings for a reported 5 million illegals if they met certain conditions along with the awarding of Social Security numbers, tax refunds, work permits, and possibly health care and other benefits.
Article I of the U.S. Constitution grants only the Congress the authority to make or alter federal law. The Obama White House claimed that it was taking the same actions other presidents have taken on immigration. Left-leaning media also equated the proposals to past “executive action on immigration.” With a link leading to an error message, MSNBC stated, “every president since Dwight D. Eisenhower has taken executive action on immigration. The American Immigration Council has identified a total of 39 times since 1956 that presidents have used their authority to grant relief to immigrants. Sometimes the impacted group represented a small number of people, like when President Reagan granted Extended Voluntary Departure to 7,000 Poles in response to the Polish government declaring martial law, or when President George W. Bush granted deferred enforcement departure to 3,600 Liberians in 2007. Other executive actions have had a larger impact, like the series of actions that granted amnesty to 621,403 Cubans between the presidencies of Eisenhower and Nixon, or those that granted relief to 360,000 Vietnamese, Laotians and Cambodians under Presidents Ford and Carter.”
The same media source had stated that Obama was “born in Indonesia,” not Hawaii, as Obama claims. An exclusive report published by Breitbart in May 2012 showed an original biography published by Obama’s literary agent which stated that he was “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
Obama further said that his immigration plan would “help secure the border, prioritize felons, not families, and hold undocumented immigrants accountable by requiring them to pass a criminal background check and pay their fair share of taxes” as well as “modernize the legal immigration system.” On the evening of his announcement, he claimed that “over the past six years, illegal border crossings have been cut by more than half.”
Last summer, Obama reserved sections of several military bases to accommodate tens of thousands of illegals who had breached the border between the U.S. and Mexico, some carrying diseases and traumatized by their trek from various Central American countries. All received free health screenings, medical care, mental health services if deemed appropriate, food, shelter, and orders to appear in court to determine whether or not they would be allowed to remain in the United States.
Religious organizations were revealed to have been receiving millions from the federal government to provide services to illegal aliens, particularly ” the growing needs of thousands of children, including many fleeing ‘horrific’ situations in Central America.”
After their arrival, thousands of unaccompanied children were transported to join family members or to other semi-permanent housing arrangements from Hawaii to the East Coast, paid for by the American taxpayer.
On Tuesday, commentator Dick Morris reported in regard to the unaccompanied children that “73% of the 60,000 cases that have been brought before the court so far were postponed because the kid didn’t show up, and of the remaining cases, half of them were decided even despite the fact that the kid didn’t show up.”
Further, Morris said, “They just ignored the subpoenas to go to court, and there’s no consequence to it. So this was completely a facade to fool the American people…”
According to The Washington Times on April 6, “The second wave of unaccompanied illegal immigrant children has begun, with more than 3,000 of them surging across the Mexican border into the U.S. last month — the highest rate since the peak of last summer’s crisis and a warning that another rough season could be ahead.” WT reporter Stephen Dinan quoted Vaughan as having said at the time that “These statistics show that the surge of illegal arrivals from Central America was never really over.”
While Obama touted increased border security as a component of his executive actions, Judicial Watch reported in April that ISIS terrorists were “operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas” in an area of heavy gang activity and illegal drug smuggling. The government watchdog group stated that the FBI responded to its report by convening a “special meeting” “specifically to address a press strategy to deny Judicial Watch’s accurate reporting and identify who is providing information to JW.”
Nevertheless, the FBI has reported that suspected members of ISIS are present in “all 50 states.”
Obama had promised in his proposed immigration actions to “deprive criminal enterprises…of their infrastructure and profits” by apprehending and deporting criminal illegal aliens. However, last year it was reported that in 2013, “A total of 36,007 criminal illegal immigrants that were being processed for deportation were freed in 2013. Together, they committed nearly 88,000 crimes…”
“If you’re a criminal, you’ll be deported,” Obama pledged to the nation on November 20, 2014.
A day before the 2014 report of tens of thousands of illegal criminals released into unsuspecting U.S. communities was made public, CBS News reported that Obama was weighing how to “mitigate the pain” of deporting illegals as a result of “our broken immigration system.”
In response to the news of the 36,000 criminals’ release, the anti-illegal-immigration group ALIPAC headlined an article with “Obama Caught Helping Illegals To Kill Americans.”
The day after he made his immigration announcement, Obama declared the creation of a task force to “welcome immigrants and refugees” and engage state and local governments to do the same. In a presidential memorandum dated November 21, 2014, he wrote, “Our country has long been a beacon of hope and opportunity for people from around the world. Nearly 40 million foreign-born residents nationwide contribute to their communities every day, including 3 million refugees who have resettled here since 1975. These new Americans significantly improve our economy. They make up 13 percent of the population, but are over 16 percent of the labor force and start 28 percent of all new businesses. Moreover, immigrants or their children have founded more than 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies, which collectively employ over 10 million people worldwide and generate annual revenues of $4.2 trillion.”
“If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” Obama said to the American electorate during his 2012 presidential campaign.
