Trump Again Denies Any Involvement in Enquirer Story

    Newsmax

    3/27/2016

    Excerpt:

Donald Trump says he “had nothing to do with” a story published in the National Enquirer alleging Texas Senator Ted Cruz, his rival to be the Republican party’s 2016 presidential nominee, has had extramarital affairs.

But he did accuse Cruz of maligning his wife, Melania Trump.

Trump slammed rival Cruz for the recent ad produced by an anti-Trump super-PAC featuring a photo of Trump's wife posing nude.

"From what I hear, he and his campaign went out and bought the cover shoot. Melania did a cover story for 'GQ,' a very strong modeling picture. No big deal," Trump said on ABC's "This Week."

"But it was a cover story for 'GQ,' a big magazine. And it was, you know, fine. And from what I hear, somebody bought the rights to it and he was the one or his campaign bought the rights and they gave it to the super PAC."

Donald Trump "This Week" Abc FULL Interview. Disgraceful for Cruz to Attack Over National Enquirer

    Published on Mar 27, 2016 by 'LesGrossman2015'

Donald Trump "This Week" Abc FULL Interview. After the National Enquirer ran a report with wild allegations about Ted Cruz‘s supposed infidelity, Cruz accused Donald Trump‘s campaign of potential involvement. Trump today called that allegation “disgraceful.” On ABC, This Week guest host Jon Karl asked Trump if his campaign or anyone connected to it was in any way involved with the story. Trump said no one did and he lashed out at Cruz for blaming him when, he said, “I have no control over the National Enquirer.” Reports in the past few days have noted Trump’s close relationship with David Pecker, who runs the Enquirer. Karl asked Trump if he would condemn the story. Trump said, “I don’t care, I mean, really, I don’t care… I have no idea whether it was right or not. They actually have a very good record of being right… I hope it’s not right.” Watch above, via ABC. Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump on Sunday insisted that he had no connection to a National Enquirer report suggesting that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) had affairs with multiple women, but noted that the tabloid had a “very good record of being right.” During an interview with ABC News, Trump insisted that his threat to “spill the beans” on Cruz’s wife, Heidi, only came after the Texas senator “started it” by attacking his wife, Melania. “The campaign has nothing to do with it,” Trump said of the National Enquirer story. “I have no control over the National Enquirer. I didn’t even know about the story, I just got it last night.” “The National Enquirer did a story, it wasn’t my story,” he added. “It was about Ted Cruz. I have no idea whether it was right or not. They actually have a very good record of being right.” According to Trump, Cruz’s campaign had provided a near-nude photograph of Melania to group which used it in anti-Trump ads. But the billionaire declined to say what he meant by his threat to “spill the beans” on Heidi Cruz. “There are things about Heidi that I don’t want to talk about,” Trump opined. “I’m not going to talk about them. I mean, you know, you could look, but I wouldn’t talk about them.” “I’m just responding to what he does, I just respond, I counter-punch,” he argued. “But always the press likes to make me the bad guy. He’s the one that started it.” ABC’s This Week this morning, guest host Jon Karl confronted Donald Trump over his threat and nasty retweet at Heidi Cruz. Karl brought up the ad featuring a Melania Trump nude photo. And despite the fact it was sent out by a Super PAC unaffiliated with the Cruz campaign, Trump is convinced Cruz was behind it. Karl then asked Trump about threatening to “spill the beans” on Heidi Cruz. Trump very vaguely said, “There are things about Heidi that I don’t want to talk about.” And then there was the nasty retweet insulting her looks. Trump dismissed that as “a retweet that somebody said to me” and lamented how the media always tries to make him the bad guy. - (bold emphasis added)
