An Obama Victory Depends On Republican Dishonesty And Cowardice

    The Western Center for Journalism

    Lawrence Sellin
    8/22/2012

    Excerpt:

"Republicans claim: “this is the most important election of our lifetime” and “this election will decide the future of our country.”

So far, there is little reason to take those Republican statements seriously because they don’t.

I believe that there is a criminal in the White House.

Barack Obama is a Constitutionally illegal President, who, on April 27, 2011 on national television presented a forged birth certificate as his own, has a forged Selective Service registration, and is using a Social Security Number not issued to him.

Exposing the full truth about Obama’s personal history would immediately end his political career.

Despite the grave consequences of an Obama victory as they themselves describe, it is not clear whether the Republicans will fully vet Obama before the election or continue to hide their own dereliction of duty and complicity in concealing the truth.

Like the Democrats, the Republicans know that revealing the truth about Obama will upset the corrupt status-quo and terminate their iron grip on political power. It is the same reason that both Republicans and Democrats hate the Tea Party because it is composed of ordinary Americans trying to take back control of their government.

Like the Democrats, the Republicans care less about the Constitution and the well-being of the American people than they do about winning elections and obtaining the power and financial rewards victory brings to them and their supporters.

Within the past year, in his Congressional office, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan was presented with evidence supporting the allegations against Obama outlined above. His only response was to state the need for Republicans to win the election.

Ryan delivered the following remarks in Norfolk, Virginia after Mitt Romney selected him to be his Vice Presidential running mate:

President Obama, and too many like him in Washington, have refused to make difficult decisions because they are more worried about their next election than they are about the next generation. We might have been able to get away with that before, but not now. We’re in a different, and dangerous, moment. We’re running out of time — and we can’t afford 4 more years of this.

In our history, the United States has survived many crises that threatened our existence because the American people have been willing to embrace the truth, accept a harsh reality, and work together towards a solution.

But Paul Ryan will not make a “difficult” decision and end our “dangerous moment.” He won’t because the Republicans would rather put the country at risk than risk the truth.

Based on Republican strategist Karl Rove’s August 13, 2012 electoral map, Obama can be re-elected simply by winning all the states presently listed as “solid Obama” and “leaning Obama”. Even if Romney wins all his “solid” and “leaning” plus all the “toss-up” states, he still loses.

Despite the dismal record of the Obama Administration, the Real Clear Politics average of polls presently has Obama 4.4 points ahead of Romney (48.4% to 44.0%). Other polls have Obama even farther ahead.

We may be witnessing a re-play of the 1948 Presidential election, when Democrat President Harry Truman’s extremely low popularity was met by Republican complacency. Truman personally attacked Republican candidate Thomas E. Dewey and the “do nothing” Republican Congress. Dewey carefully avoided risks, spoke in platitudes, avoided controversial issues, and was vague on what he planned to do as President. Truman won.

The United States is now facing an economic and social crisis it cannot survive if the political leadership continues to lie to the American people and refuses to uphold the rule of law. Consequently, the American people are completely losing trust in representative government, which will eventually lead to a collapse of the political system, fragmentation, and chaos.
