Free Republic is running a thread titled, 'Live Thread: Benghazi Whistleblowers Hearing 11:30 A.M. EDT 5/08/13', which was started 5/8/2013 by 'kristinn'

The thread references the discussion by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform - http://oversight.house.gov/release/o...ghazi-hearing/

    Excerpt:

    Hearing details:

WASHINGTON – House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today announced three witnesses who will appear at a full committee hearing, “Benghazi: Exposing Failure and Recognizing Courage,” on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 11:30 AM in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.

“I applaud these individuals for answering our call to testify in front of the Committee. They have critical information about what occurred before, during, and after the Benghazi terrorist attacks that differs on key points from what Administration officials – including those on the Accountability Review Board – have portrayed,” said Issa. “Our committee has been contacted by numerous other individuals who have direct knowledge of the Benghazi terrorist attack, but are not yet prepared to testify. In many cases their principal reticence of appearing in public is their concern of retaliation at the hands of their respective employers. While we may yet add additional witnesses, this panel will certainly answer some questions and leave us with many new ones.”

    Witnesses: Mr. Mark Thompson
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism
    US Department of State

    Mr. Gregory Hicks
Foreign Service Officer and former Deputy Chief of Mission/Chargé d’Affairs in Libya
    US Department of State

    Mr. Eric Nordstrom
Diplomatic Security Officer and former Regional Security Officer in Libya
    US Department of State

In October 2012, the Oversight Committee held the first hearing on the Benghazi attacks, which exposed denials of security requests and forced the Administration to acknowledge that the attacks were not sparked by a protest of a YouTube video, contrary to claims made by Obama Administration officials.

*** NOTE: Press seating will be reserved, but limited. Please arrive early (hearing room will open to press at 10:30 AM) to guarantee a seat. An overflow area will be available. ***

Consider that it is worse and more evil than simple abandonment of 4 men. When the order to "stand-down" was ordered there were more than 32 people at risk. That meant that all (4 + 32), if nothing was done, were at mortal risk. The C-130 parked on the tarmac in Tripoli was ordered to disembark its passengers (4 special forces) and told to stand down. Aviano, we were told, had a rapid response team chomping at the bits to go, and could have been there in 2 1/2 hours (long before the second attack at the safehouse, where all but 2 lives could have been saved, were told to stand down.

I tell you, it is my belief that Obama and Clinton, made the decision to "no-go" expressily to get all of these Americans killed....dead people do not talk and tell a story.

Now, if you "back into the moment where Doughterty and Woods were killed from the other end you arrive at the same conclusion. The wounded were sent, some for 6 months to Germany and told they could not talk about the events. They were ordered not to speak. Now, back in the US people who want to speak are threatened with loss of their jobs, their retirement, their professional futures. You arrive at the same conslusions. Obama and Clinton wanted them dead...it would have been easier to deal with the dead....it would have been easier to promulgate such nonsense as a silly video as a tripwire. Obama and Clinton simply saw their screwups spinning out of control, an election in 7 weeks, and a possible screwup of such magnitude that it would cause the loss of the Presidency. The easiest way to deal with these complications, they concluded, was to kill them all. Obama and Clinton set all 32 people, by orders of Obama, on a course of being assinated by al Quaeda, in colusion with Obama. If it had not been for Woods and Dougherty, heros of the highest order, they would have succeeded and the questions we all have would have been silenced.

Watergate made the press relevant (beyond where they should have been) - Benghazi will showcase them as an insignificant foolish group of sycophants...

Bye bye New York Times and Washington Post... your credibility's on the line... and you're throwing it away...

Hicks is making it VERY CLEAR that 'Ansar Al Sharia' is a terrorist group and is immediately known to be responsible for the attack from the get go.

This is very very damaging to hillary and HUSSEIN. Hicks is very emotional at certain points, he's reliving the whole thing all over again.

      “Passed away” - ????

      “Feel your pain” - ????

“We HAVE to listen to you all” - ???

Cummings is following his notes. Bad idea. He is going to question what these people did. Very bad idea. This is NOT political for these folks. It is life or death. Cummings is a piece of garbage. If he cross-examines these people he best be very careful.
