Rubio Moves Closer to VP Slot After Bilderberg Speculation

Senator campaigns with Romney in Pennsylvania

    Excerpt:

"Florida Senator Marco Rubio has moved closer to becoming Mitt Romney’s VP pick after hitting the campaign trail with the former Governor of Massachusetts in Pennsylvania, dovetailing with speculation that the secretive Bilderberg Group were set to give the nod for Rubio to become Romney’s running mate.

“It had the looks of a running mate audition, with the two men striding together through the Mustang Expediting delivery company’s warehouse, and Romney occasionally stepping back to let Rubio handle some questions,” reports AFP.

Indeed, Rubio made a Freudian slip last week when he told a forum, “Three, four, five, six, seven years from now, if I do a good job as vice president — I’m sorry, as senator — I’ll have the chance to do all sorts of things.”

Bookies currently have Rubio as the favorite to become Romney’s VP selection ahead of the likes of Paul Ryan and Bob McDonnell.

As we highlighted earlier this month, veteran Washington Post columnist Al Kamen penned an article in which he intimated that Bilderberg would have a role to play in picking Romney’s VP, just as they did in both 2008 and 2004, and that Rubio was the preferred choice.

In May 2008 it was reported that Former Fannie Mae CEO and Bilderberg member Jim Johnson had been asked by Obama to select his running mate. Johnson was also central in picking Edwards after his Bilderberg speech in 2004.

The fact that Rubio is the only Senator to be jetting off to join the likes of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama at international confabs like last weekend’s Summit of the Americas suggests that he is a shoe-in for the VP slot. It also underscores that there is little difference between the two major parties at the top of the power structure."

Romney, Rubio mum on vice presidential prospects

    Yahoo News
    4/23/2012

    AFP

    Excerpt:

"Republican White House hopeful Mitt Romney dodged mounting speculation Monday about a potential running mate, even with Senator Marco Rubio, the man now in the VP spotlight, standing right beside him.

Rubio is the latest among potential vice presidential picks to hit the campaign trail with Romney, but the first since the frontrunner's main rival Rick Santorum bowed out of the Republican race two weeks ago.

Romney has already pivoted toward President Barack Obama ahead of the November election, telling supporters at a town hall event in Aston, Pennsylvania about the president's "great failings" and saying it was time to "take back America."

He was more reserved about who might be his deputy in that quest.

"We really haven't had a discussion yet of putting together a list, or evaluating various candidates," Romney said, speaking of aide Beth Myers who he appointed to coordinate the vice presidential vetting process."
