Obama’s 23 executive orders: Doctors become snitches, gun ownership is a ‘disease’ and more

As promised, President Obama has issued 23 executive orders as part of his campaign to disarm the American people and strip them of their Second Amendment rights. These executive orders include things like turning doctors into police state snitches by order them to “ask patients about their guns.”

It also orders the CDC to begin studying gun violence and gun ownership as if it were a “disease.” This will no doubt become part of the mental health “solution” to disarming the public. Anyone who expresses a desire to own a gun will simply be labeled mentally ill and then denied the ability to purchase or possess otherwise legal firearms.

The following description of the 23 executive orders was provided by the White House. These descriptions are almost certainly deceptions, so don’t take them at face value. The devil is in the details, as we all know, so until we get a chance to look at the actual wording of each executive order, we won’t really know what Obama is trying to pull outside of law, without Congress and in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

There orders also completely ignore the issue of the psychiatric drugging of children, which we know is linked to nearly every school shooting that has taken place.

Furthermore, Obama has completely ignored the issue of violent video games, violent movies and violent television programming.

While much is fluff, the trick here in some of them is finding new ways to disqualify people from owning firearms, via your doctor. Don’t think this isn’t going to be maximized, and don’t think doctors can’t make mistakes or err on the side of caution and your guns are taken without anything other than someone else’s opinion about you.

The following is an excerpt from COMMENT #21, by 'yefragetuwrabrumuy', in the thread:

I spotted a bunch of extremely bad things in there, that were followups to gun control dirty tricks of the last 20 years. By the numbers:

1) Require federal agencies to use their numerous citizen databases to compile a *raw* national citizen dossier. Even the FBI’s *raw* files are farcical, containing rumors, speculation, and any number of lies. They would never use their raw files for any purpose, until the data had been verified. Other federal agencies have no such limitations.

2) “Oh, sure, there are *privacy protections* in HIPPA to protect citizens from government snooping at multiple levels.” Guess what? Your medical records are now public domain.

4) “Dangerous people who should not have guns including gun owners, veterans, and most especially Tea Party members.”

6) Why tell licensed dealers how to conduct background checks on peoples’ private gun sales, of which the dealer has no part? This assumes it will now be illegal to privately sell guns without a background check by a licensed dealer.

14) The CDC already created a ludicrous report about how good gun control would be, which was shot down by a previous congress, telling them to keep their political opinions to themselves. The CDC, realizing where the wind was blowing did another study that showed gun control laws were ineffective. Obama wants to change them back to being anti-gun.

16) The American Pediatric Association demanded that pediatricians in Florida ask parents about guns in their homes. If they refused, the pediatrician could refuse them service. If they said they had guns, it would be noted in their child’s medical record. See #2 above, allowing the government to examine anyone’s medical records. Florida passed a law saying that pediatricians couldn’t do this, but it was overturned by a judge.

I am quite shocked at how milquetoast the "Executive orders" are. Technically they are merely directives and not orders at all. I'm wondering if he wasn't scared off by the possible negative impact of some actual gun grabbing order.

This was all Kabuki Theater with the Children as props. "Look what I'm doing for the Children" and when you look at it closely, he didn't do anything.

The good thing is that this is all smoke and mirrors. The bad thing is that this was all smoke and mirrors.

He's going after our guns one way or the other. Tyrants can't operate where the citizenry is armed. If he is going to destroy this country he will need to take the weapons out of the hands of patriots. That is his goal.

The following is an excerpt from COMMENT #77, by 'TxAg1981', in the thread:

The comment is in reference to Executive Order #6 - (Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.)

The whole intent is to know where each and every weapon is located. NOTHING MORE.

Once the gov't knows where they are, they can go get them.

Look for citizen-informants set up for entrapment stings.

The gov't stooge will put in an offer to buy a weapon. If the seller does not require the sale to be conducted through an FFL holder, the seller will be arrested.

BANK ON IT

In the next few years, you'll see some high profile stings. This is order to show the subjects "whose boss".

Of course with this, all weapons will go underground and you will now be treated like a drug dealer.

Photo-op president shooting blanks

President Obama’s exercise in gun legislation by photo-op and executive order yesterday may cheer liberals and outrage the NRA, but it will do almost nothing to curb gun violence.

Some of the new rules — 23 in all — may at first glance seem reasonable, such as expanding the amount of information available for background checks.

So does the boilerplate admonition to “launch a national safe and responsible gun-ownership campaign.” (But, psst, the National Rifle Association’s been doing that for years.)

And some actually make sense, such as helping schools and churches develop more effective emergency-response programs.

But all these are tepid, marginal stuff.

And others are outright posturing — such as issuing a presidential memorandum “directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence” — or simply risible — such as the order to nominate a new director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Um, what’s stopping you, Mr. President? (Of course, senators may well want to ask the ATF nominee about the Fast and Furious debacle.)

And none of these edicts, will have the slightest effect on psychos who illegally obtain weapons and then attack innocents in the free-fire areas known as “gun-free zones.”

Moreover, some of Obama’s commands raise important questions about civil liberties.

Take No. 4: “Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.”

They are, of course: Colorado shooter James Holmes passed background checks, as did the Virginia Tech killer and many others.

But if there were any clear way to identify “dangerous people” in advance (short of establishing a Department of Pre-Crime), we’d already be doing it.

And Obama’s notion of dragooning the country’s doctors into a network of snitches who ask their patients if they have guns at home is just repugnant.

The president has a few more substantive proposals, such as universal background checks on any gun sales — private sales are now exempt, but a tiny percentage of the total — and a restoration of the “assault rifle” ban.

But those changes require legislation, and far too many Democratic senators hail from gun-rights states, with several — Alaska’s Mark Begich, Arkansas’ Mark Pryor and Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu — facing re-election next year.

Still, now that Obama has put his ideas on the table, let’s have that “national conversation” about guns he says he wants.

Let’s ask why gun crime is worst in cities such as the one the president began his career in, Chicago, which has long had some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. Laws so strict that a federal court recently found them unconstitutional.

Let’s discuss high-capacity magazines and whether limiting them to 10 rounds really makes any difference when an experienced criminal can swap out magazines in less than a second. Let’s discuss how many mass shootings (and potential ones) have been terminated by the presence of armed civilians willing to risk their own lives to save the innocent and the unarmed.

The fact is, people on the left and the right could easily agree on a basic framework of national gun rules that respect the Second Amendment while ensuring that guns are not easily obtainable by felons and the insane.

For the rest, leave it up to the states and let the people decide.

Obama gun speech shows misdirection, desperation and weakness

Announcing anti-gun measures in front of a theatrical backdrop of children, itself a tactic associated with troubling historical precedents, President Barack Obama yesterday proposed specific legislative efforts related to guns for Congress to pass, and also outlined 23 measures he says can be implemented under executive authority.

To set the stage for using children, the White House, along with a complicit anti-gun media, made a point of sharing letters from children, particularly those that resonate with the childish emotions of those who don’t know enough about guns to know they’re being manipulated. Case in point is the message from an eight-year-old who begged the president “Please don’t let people own machine guns or other powerful guns like that.”

This of course, falls right in line with a planned strategy articulated by Josh Sugarmann of the Violence Policy Center, who as far back as 1988 articulated the deception by declaring “The weapons' menacing looks, coupled with the public's confusion over fully automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons -- anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun -- can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.”

“First: It’s time for Congress to require a universal background check for anyone trying to buy a gun,” the president asserted. “The law already requires licensed gun dealers to run background checks, and over the last 14 years that’s kept 1.5 million of the wrong people from getting their hands on a gun.”

That claim is actually the genesis of the “Authorized Journalist” term used by Gun Rights Examiner. Years ago, this correspondent attempted to ask an anti-gun politician at another political press event why, if so many prohibited people were being stopped from buying guns via the background check system why there were not commensurate prosecutions and convictions for what is a federal felony, and was told by a police representative that questioning of officials at that event by non-government-recognized journalists was forbidden.

It also stands in stark contrast to actual practice committed and subsequently covered up by agents of the Obama administration, who purposely allowed guns to go to violent Mexican cartels as well as domestic criminals, oftentimes with gun dealers being told by federal law enforcement to ignore failed background checks and complete firearms transfers known to be illegal.

“Second: Congress should restore a ban on military-style assault weapons, and a 10-round limit for magazines,” the president declared, resurrecting a long time goal that was warned about by some, and ridiculed by those who saw an advantage in diminishing gun owner fears.

These are the two major legal changes gun rights advocates must fight tooth and nail, and remind their representatives that they will not be scapegoated, and will revenge themselves at the polls on any politician who betrays them and the oath of office. Also among Obama’s legislative proposals is a plan to ban possession of currently owned militia-suitable ("armor piercing") ammunition.

But also representing a danger are the previously “under the radar” incursions that are now threatening to drop their payloads on strategic targets.

Executive actions announced by the president include:

“Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system,” is the first item on the list. What that relevant data might be, and what privacy and civil liberties considerations lend themselves to abuse demand definition and analysis.

“Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system,” the list continues. Again, the dangers of allowing government into the examining room and allowing the executive branch to be the sole arbiter of “unnecessary legal barriers” as opposed to fundamental medical privacy rights reinforces and establishes dangerous precedents.

“Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system” is the third action. The nebulous term “information” screams for a comprehensive breakdown of just what Obama’s got in mind, and as for “incentives,” federal purse strings have time and again proven to be puppet strings that erode Tenth Amendment protections.

“Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks” is another directive that may sound good to the uninformed, but is rife with potential for abuse, particularly of such people have not been convicted of anything. Guilty until proven innocent is exactly the opposite of what our legal system is supposed to presume.
