CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed Donald Trump this morning on the potential national security implications of his proposed Muslim U.S. entry ban.
He relayed a conversation he had with one national security official who brought up the concern that a disaffected 22-year-old Muslim might see the leading presidential contender attacking his entire religion. Tapper said that official asked if that young man would be “less or more likely to turn to ISIS.”
Trump insisted the important thing here is to “stop the problem” and stop being so politically correct.
Tapper still pressed him and asked, “Is potentially alienating 1.6 billion Muslims––is that a solution to the problem or does that create more problems?”
