    Excerpt:

"Nairobi — United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in the Kenyan capital on Saturday morning for a two-day visit.

Clinton who is in Nairobi as part of a multi-nation visit to Africa on behalf of President Obama arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 10.20am.

She immediately headed to State House, Nairobi for a meeting with President Mwai Kibaki. She will also separately meet Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and the Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende later.

She will also hold talks with top Independent Electoral Commission officials led by Chairman Isaack Hassan at the InterContinental hotel from 1pm.

'The Secretary will meet President Kibaki, Prime Minister Odinga, and other government officials to emphasise her support for transparent, credible, non-violent national elections in 2013,' US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

One person was killed in a grenade attack in a Nairobi suburb late Friday, police said, the latest in a string of blasts in Kenya since its troops invaded southern Somalia to crush Al-Qaeda linked insurgent bases there last year.

Clinton, on an 11-day tour of Africa, wrapped up the Ugandan leg of her journey early Saturday before heading for Nairobi where she is to meet with Kenya's leaders on the forthcoming elections and with Somalia's leaders on the end of the transition in that country.
