Though there are plenty of Americans determined to prove Barack Obama is unqualified to serve as president amid claims he was born in Kenya instead of Hawaii, other critics of the current administration have concluded that focusing on his birthplace ignores a far greater concern. This sentiment is expressed succinctly in a phrase that has gained traction after being shared by a number of prominent conservative sources.
The basic idea that Americans should be more upset by Obama’s actions in office than any potential fraud that got him there is not a new one. In fact, phrases very similar to the one displayed in the image above have been shared since the 2012 election cycle.
One blog posted the “short and simple bumper sticker” in August 2012 as its latest pick to comment on Obama’s presidency.
“Where can I buy one or two of them,” one reader wondered. “LOVE it!”
A few months later, conservative real estate mogul Donald Trump shared the quote with his millions of Twitter followers.
While some Obama opponents are obviously willing to forego any debate regarding the disputed authenticity of his birth certificate, plenty of others continue to call for an exhaustive investigation. Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio is among the most prominent figures who continues to pursue allegations that Obama used fraudulent records when establishing his citizenship as a candidate.
