Excerpts:
"President Obama's trip to a nuclear security summit in South Korea forced him to skip this year's Gridiron Dinner last night, but he did send a video to the journalistic group that makes fun of politicians with musical skits.
Obama returned the favor, joking about the length of the Gridiron dinner, the age of its members (which includes bureau chiefs and other journalism big shots), and the dinner's Republican speaker, Texas governor and ex-presidential candidate Rick Perry.
.................................................. ..............
"Enjoy the rest of your evening," the president told Gridiron members. "Especially tonight's three speakers: Secretary Panetta, (Democratic Party chairwoman) Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and -- um -- (looks off-camera) ... Who's the third speaker?"
That third speaker would be Perry, who joked about his flubs on the campaign trail.
"Now, President Obama couldn't be here," Perry said. "I read that he is in Korea, at the DMZ -- would somebody tell me: Why do ya have to go all the way to Korea to get a DRIVER'S LICENSE? Must be something to do with that birth certificate thing."
