House Speaker and golf enthusiast John Boehner of West Chester took to the links yesterday with real estate mogul and political enthusiast Donald Trump, much to the consternation of House of Representatives Democrats.
"Speaker Boehner is fiddling while Washington - and the American middle class - burns, ignoring our pressing priorities like job creation so he can play golf on his vacation with a crackpot birther instead," said Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokeswoman Emily Bittner, referring to Trump's repeated claims that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.
Politico and the Washington Post reported Tuesday that the Speaker and the Donald played a round of golf at a Trump-owned golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, in between fundraisers that Boehner hosted for Republicans in the House of Representatives. [...]
UPDATE: On Wednesday afternoon, Trump told Fox News' Neil Cavuto that he and Boehner played golf on Tuesday with Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel (brother of Chicago mayor and Obama ally Rahm Emanuel) and that Trump had the group's lowest score.

Democrats freak out over Boehner’s golf game with Trump

At least one thing was accomplished when Speaker of the House John Boehner hit the links with real estate mogul Donald Trump this week: Democrats freaked out.
Citing media reports that the Ohio Republican and reality TV star played golf together Tuesday in New Jersey, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent out a memo to reporters slamming the oddly-hued pair.
The committee referenced Trump’s multiple flirtation with running for president and his “birther” claims that President Obama was not actually born in the United States.
“Wasting time with a discredited conspiracy-theorist like Donald Trump shows where Speaker Boehner’s true priorities lie,” said Emily Bittner of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. [...] - Continued at Daily Caller. Hat tip Fathertime.
