Lawmaker: Obama’s ‘Drunken Uncle Omar’ should testify before Congress
Alex Pappas | The Daily Caller

A Republican lawmaker said Wednesday he would like President Obama’s “drunken Uncle Omar” — the longtime illegal immigrant who has faced deportation — to testify before Congress.

Iowa Rep. Steve King made the comments during a Conversations with Conservatives event on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. Asked by a reporter about “Uncle Omar,” the lawmaker repeated his desire for Obama’s relative to answer questions before the House Judiciary Committee about whether he has received special treatment.

Onyango “Omar” Obama — the president’s Kenyan-born uncle — has been in the United States illegally since the 1960s, having disregarded multiple deportation orders over the years.

King's remarks came from a query by Newsblaze Washington Correspondent Randy Foreman at the monthly Heritage Foundation's Conversations with Conservatives held in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol. The congressman added that he might "have the opportunity to take the matter in the next hour" in the Judiciary Committee which met right after Conversations with Conservatives that the congressman departed early to. [...]

King summed up his remarks on the issue by saying "it looks like if you are an Obama friend you are exempt from the law, and that is something this congress should examine."

Other websites have picked up the Newsblaze question all the way from the Daily Caller to Pro and Anti "Birther" twitter accounts. Some sites assumed, without asking NewsBlaze, that this question had been arranged with Congressman King beforehand, but that was not true. The question was for our information on the case that we had been watching for some time, in which other media appeared to have little interest. [...] - More @ News Blaze.
