Before reports surfaced that House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) was in Egypt, our sources informed us that he was personally looking into the case against Malik Obama. We cannot reveal anymore of what we may or may not know but those claims appear to have been given additional credence based on Egyptian reports from today that Rogers’ is in fact in Egypt and met with el-Sisi.
Via Ahram Online:
If our sources are correct – and we believe them to be – Rogers is either interested in determining Egypt’s political will to pursue the case against Malik Obama; he is on a fact-finding mission; or he is attempting to get el-Sisi to call off the dogs. At this point, those answers are difficult to determine.
However, remember what Rogers said about Huma Abedin in 2012, when there was overwhelming evidence that warranted further investigation of Abedin:
Based on that quote, don’t get your hopes up that Rogers would like to see the Malik case move forward. In fact, his stance on Huma indicates he might be interested in the opposite.
That leads to another dynamic. According to what Ahram online seems to imply, one of the reasons Rogers is in Egypt is to help prevent that country from running further into the arms of Russia. If he is truly interested in that, the best thing he could do would be to help Egypt expose Malik Obama, not encourage them to suppress the case.

Armed forces chief Field Marshall Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met on Tuesday with a delegation from the United States Congress led by Representative Mike Rogers, Al-Ahram Arabic reported.
The discussions covered matters of mutual interest between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues.
Rep. Rogers is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and has been supportive of the Egyptian military in the past, especially after the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi on 3 July.
