    SPECIAL REPORT

    21st Century Wire

New images of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy’s tense standoff with the Federal Bureau of Land Mangement (BLM) on Saturday afternoon reveal how the armed agency’s military operation configured to forcefully engage Bundy cowboys and their supporters who sought to liberate federally confiscated cattle over the weekend.

These exclusive images were taken by a GMN photographer positioned right above the action on the Southbound side of Interstate 15 near Bunkerville, Nevada.

Despite the BLM being instructed to leave the Bundy Ranch and Gold Butte area earlier that morning, the agency still insisted had a legal right to be there and that it would not let go of hundreds of cows it had already taken away from the Bundy Family. Critics are asking if that ‘legal right’ also includes stationing a federal military force in Bunkerville.

Prior to this standoff, the special agent in charge of BLM’s ground operations, Daniel P. Love, had issued a warning that any one who crosses the federal line in order to free the seized cattle – will be arrested. Love went on boasting his agency’s advantage over Bundy supporters when saying, “I’ve seen your numbers right now, you’d better hope that 10,000 show up.”

It turns out that protesters needed far less numbers to overcome Love’s federal army. In the end, a Bundy’s contingent of 150 cowboys on horseback and a few hundred of peaceful supporters – backed by a well-organised volunteer militia, all together, proceed to march past the BLM’s line of demarcation to the entrance of cattle holding area, prompting the platoon of armed federal tactical teams to stand down and fall back.

This is the first collection in a three part series, showing the federal government’s military build-up to Saturday’s climax under US Interstate 15…

Part 2: BEHIND THE LINES – More Photos of ‘DC Federales’ – Preparing to Shoot Americans?

    SPECIAL REPORT
    21st Century Wire

When Clark County Nevada Sheriff Douglas Gillespie left the podium at Saturday morning’s press conference at the Bundy Ranch, he left Cliven Bundy and his supporters believing that federal soldiers working for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) would be ‘standing down’, only that didn’t happen.

Was this is ploy by the BLM – to create a chaotic powder keg situation only hours later?

Why the BLM would withdraw from Gold Butte on the Bundy Ranch, but then secretly plan an huge armed confrontation – against Bundy cowboys and their supporters who were heading over to reclaim their stolen property – is astonishing.

Even at the moment of confrontation, the BLM did not appear to actually be fully standing down. What was the BLM expecting? Chief of the BLM issued a statement claiming that the absolute final stand-down order was given in light of ‘safety concerns for the public and agents’.

Reports on the ground that day also confirmed that even more armed Federal reinforcements were on the way, but luckily were caught up in stand-still traffic ten miles out from the scene. What were they planning?

Exclusive photos supplied to 21WIRE by a GMN photographer positioned behind federal lines at the Battle of Bundy Ranch, further reveal the scale and scope of Washington’s military operation on US soil.

Viewers can judge for themselves whether or not the US Federal government was playing a deceptive, deadly game with American lives - on both sides.

      COMMENT TO THE ARTICLE:

      survivalmom (Replying to Joel Stoner)

Don't forget to add the fact that the BLM did not come into existence until 1946, almost 70 years later. Today's BLM nothing like their beginning role, which was to provide assistance to ranchers. I give credit here to a gal in Mesquite, NV for doing a great job in explaining the evolution of the blm in a nutshell. Please read and pass this along:
Apr12 at 9:52am near Mesquite, NV

There have been a lot of people criticizing Clive Bundy because he did not pay his grazing fees for 20 years. The public is also probably wondering why so many other cowboys are supporting Mr. Bundy even though they paid their fees and Clive did not. What you people probably do not realize is that on every rancher's grazing permit it says the following: "You are authorized to make grazing use of the lands, under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management and covered by this grazing permit, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this grazing permit and payment of grazing fees when due." The "mandatory" terms and conditions go on to list the allotment, the number and kind of livestock to be grazed, when the permit begins and ends, the number of active or suspended AUMs (animal units per month), etc. The terms and conditions also list specific equirements such as where salt or mineral supplements can be located, maximum allowable use of forage levels (40% of annual growth), etc., and include a lot more stringent policies that must be adhered to. Every rancher must sign this"contract" agreeing to abide by the TERMS AND CONDITIONS before he or she can make payment. In the early 90s, the BLM went on a frenzy and drastically cut almost every rancher's permit because of this desert tortoise issue, even though all of us ranchers knew that cow and desert tortoise had co-existed for a hundred+ years. As an example, a family friend had his permit cut by 90%. For those of you who are non ranchers, that would be equated to getting your paycheck cut 90%. In 1976 there were approximately 52 ranching permits in this area of Nevada.

Presently, there are 3. Most of these people lost their livelihoods because of the actions of the BLM. Clive Bundy was one of these people who received extremely unfair and unreasonable TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Keep in mind that Mr. Bundy was required to sign this contract before he was allowed to pay. Had Clive signed on the dotted line, he would have, in essence, signed his very livelihood away. And so Mr. Bundy tooka stand, not only for himself, but for all of us. He refused to be destroyed by a tyrannical federal entity and to have his American liberties and freedoms taken away. Also keep in mind that all ranchers financially paid dearly for the forage rights those permits allow - - not rights to the land, but rights to use the forage that grows on that
land. Many of these AUMS are water based, meaning that the rancher also has a vested right (state owned, not federal) to the waters that adjoin the lands and allow the livestock to drink. These water rights were also purchased at a great price. If a rancher cannot show beneficial use of the water (he must have the appropriate number of livestock that drinks and uses that water), then he loses that water right. Usually water rights and forage rights go hand in hand.

Contrary to what the BLM is telling you, they NEVER compensate a rancher for the AUMs they take away. Most times, they tell ranchers that their AUMS are "suspended," but not removed. Unfortunately, my family has thousands of "suspended" AUMs that will probably never be returned. And so, even though these ranchers throughout the course of a hundred years invested thousands (and perhaps millions) of dollars and sacrificed along the way to obtain these rights through purchase from others, at a whim the government can take everything away with the stroke of a pen.

This is the very thing that Clive Bundy singlehandedly took a stand against. Thank you, Clive, from a rancher who considers you a hero.

Reid: People who support Bundy are 'domestic terrorists'

        Examiner

        Anthony Martin, Conservative Examiner
        4/17/2014

        Excerpt:

As the Examiner has already noted previously, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., Senate Majority Leader, referred to rancher Cliven Bundy as a "domestic terrorist." But Reid has now included anyone who supports Bundy in that wide swath of malicious and deadly character assassination.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal,

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on Thursday called supporters of Bunkerville rancher Cliven Bundy “domestic terrorists” because they defended him against a Bureau of Land Management cattle roundup with guns and put their children in harm’s way.

“They’re nothing more than domestic terrorists,” Reid said during an appearance at a Las Vegas Review-Journal “Hashtags & Headlines” event at the Paris. “I repeat: what happened there was domestic terrorism.”

A few key questions are in order for the Senator. How have Bundy's actions put him in the same league with Timothy McVeigh, Bill Ayers, or Bernandine Dohrn? Has Bundy ever shot a police officer? Has he ever been convicted, or even accused, of murder? Has he ever gone out of his way, per Ayers and Dohrn, to gather murderous thugs who have the stated intention of killing innocent citizens, as the two did in 1960s Chicago during the very first "Days of Rage" in which Ayers encouraged his followers to kill their parents?

When have any of the protesters who have gathered at his ranch in Nevada in a show of support ever done such things to be considered domestic terrorists? Have any gone on a shooting spree at a U.S. military compound, resulting in multiple deaths, such as the Fort Hood shooter? Have any set off a bomb that has killed or injured innocent citizens, such as the Boston Marathon bombers and as Ayers and Dohrn did when they bombed federal buildings in the late 60s and early 70s?

Has Reid ever referred to Bill Ayers as a domestic terrorist? Yet this man still walks the streets as a free man and financed the budding political career of one Barack Obama in Illinois in the early years.

Both Reid and his son, Rory, appear to have a most disturbingly warped sense of right and wrong. Ayers gets a pass. But a lowly cattle rancher in southern Nevada who has never done anything but attempt to make a living is singled out as a domestic terrorist because he refuses to pay grazing fees to the federal government. People who are as warped as Reid are dangerous. And they certainly don't belong in elected political offices.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is run by a Reid crony, one that Reid himself picked for the job. Immediately this smacks of conflict of interest at the very least. The BLM wants Bundy gone because Reid wants him gone. And why does Reid want him gone?

Because if anyone ever bothers to dig deeply into the truth, one will find a mass tumorous growth of corruption, the toxicity of which will immediately kill people with morals and scruples. Reid and his son Rory wanted complete control of that "federal land" for one reason alone -- to complete their sleazy land deal with Chinese Communists who are building a multibillion dollar solar panel plant near the land that is in dispute. Obviously Reid sees the rest of the unused land as potential for another or perhaps many cash cows that he and his son can tap, padding the pockets not only of Clark County commissioners but the state of Nevada, the U.S. government, and that of Reid and his son themselves.

So thoroughly has Reid been corrupted by money that he will do anything to insure no one poses a threat to his ability to manipulate the BLM or county commissioners, getting more suspicious foreign deals approved that involve tons of money. Perhaps Reid wants that land so that the ChiComs can expand their solar panel plant if they want. Perhaps he has other deals in the works. But according to insider sources he is scared to death that uncovering the real story about the land deal, the involvement of his son Rory, and the involvement of the ChiComs that he is willing to do anything to stop any investigation before it begins, by tar and feathering his opposition verbally, maligning their motives, and assassinating their character.

But the very worst part of this whole sordid mess is the chatter that is going on among the BLM, federal law enforcement, and some within the Dept. of Justice. Well placed sources report that some of these LEOs would like nothing better than to open fire on the Bundys and their supporters. They are incensed to the point of rage that they were so condemned in the court of public opinion that they had to withdraw in defeat like whipped puppies with their tails tucked between their legs. They are itching to come back and finish the job, whatever that means.

The facts only get worse, however, when it comes to federal law enforcement. When it comes to the multimillions of acres the Feds have seized through the years, LEOs routinely view ordinary citizens as subjects, not citizens. We are here to do their bidding. To obey without question. They are the king of the hill, the overlords, the masters over the slaves. Their problem, however, is that Americans have been watching this mindset unfold night after night on their TV screens for the past six years, and they are fed up.

A further complication in addition to the attitude of federals law enforcement is the factual information that has been reported repeatedly that the federal government itself has pitted itself against the ordinary citizens. The IRS scandal is the perfect example. Not only has it now become clear that the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats attempted to undercut the will of the people to win elections, but they did so using the most powerful, intimidating civilian force in the federal government, the IRS. This agency, according to emails that were publicized this week, wanted to harass and thwart conservative groups and individuals while giving liberal groups a pass. The record shows that the IRS did not go after liberals. Conservatives were the target, especially Tea Party groups and even the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

And lest anyone attempt to claim that this had no bearing on the upcoming election in 2012, you had best read the evidence and wake up and smell the coffee. The facts showed that the IRS tactics did, indeed, suppress the conservative vote due to its targeting of the Tea Party.

All of this has caused most Americans to pause to consider a disturbing fact -- the IRS views most of us as the enemy, and unless we toe the party line we may find ourselves in the crosshairs of the agency's multiple means of disrupting and even ruining the lives of innocent citizens.

This scandal, along with numerous others that have been created by the thugs in the White House and the Senate, and in the vast unelected bureaucracy, has resonated with the public to the degree that they want something done. And they want it done swiftly and harshly. These are criminals we are talking about who have invaded our government.

After Nevada ranch stand-off, emboldened militias ask: where next?

          Reuters / US Edition

          Jonathan Allen
          4/17/2014

          Excerpt:

(Reuters) - Flat on his belly in a sniper position, wearing a baseball cap and a flak jacket, a protester aimed his semi-automatic rifle from the edge of an overpass and waited as a crowd below stood its ground against U.S. federal agents in the Nevada desert.

He was part of a 1,000-strong coalition of armed militia-men, cowboys on horseback, gun rights activists and others who rallied to Cliven Bundy's Bunkerville ranch, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, in a stand-off with about a dozen agents from the federal Bureau of Land Management.

The rangers had rounded up hundreds of Bundy's cattle, which had been grazing illegally on federal lands for two decades. Bundy had refused to pay grazing fees, saying he did not recognize the government's authority over the land, a view that attracted vocal support from some right-wing groups.

Citing public safety, the BLM retreated, suspending its operation and even handing back cattle it had already seized.

No shots were fired during the stand-off, which Bundy's triumphant supporters swiftly dubbed the "Battle of Bunkerville," but the government's decision to withdraw in the face of armed resistance has alarmed some who worry that it has set a dangerous precedent and emboldened militia groups.

"Do laws no longer apply when the radical right no longer agrees?" said Ryan Lenz, a writer for the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors militia group activity.

Armed Americans using the threat of a gunfight to force federal officers to back down is virtually unparalleled in the modern era, militia experts said. But the BLM, which says it is now pursuing legal and administrative options to resolve the dispute, has won praise for stepping back and avoiding violence.

Energized by their success, Bundy's supporters are already talking about where else they can exercise armed defiance. They include groups deeply suspicious of what they see as a bloated, over-reaching government they fear wants to restrict their constitutional right to bear arms.

Alex Jones, a radio host and anti-government conspiracy theorist whose popular right-wing website, Infowars, helped popularize Bundy's dispute, called it a watershed moment.

"Americans showed up with guns and said, 'No, you're not," before confronting the armed BLM agents, Jones said in a telephone interview. "And they said, 'Shoot us.' And they did not. That's epic. And it's going to happen more."

Militia experts interviewed by Reuters said they could not think of another example in recent decades where different militia groups had banded together to offer armed resistance to thwart a law enforcement operation.

In the days since the showdown, right-wing websites have begun searching for other Bundys. Several conservative and survivalist blogs have seized on the case of Tommy Henderson, a rancher on the Texas-Oklahoma border who they say is fighting BLM attempts to seize some of his land.

          MILITARY FATIGUES, RIFLES

Few people had heard of Bundy and his ranch until a few days before the stand-off. Right-wing websites and advocacy groups such as Americans for Prosperity, founded by one of the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers, cast his tale in a folksy David and Goliath light and helped spread it online.

Someone who has known Bundy since his early 1990s fall-out with the BLM is Richard Mack, a former Arizona sheriff who founded the militia group Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.

Mack is also a prominent member of Oath Keepers, a similar group of serving or former soldiers, police and firefighters who view themselves as defenders of the U.S. Constitution. More than 100 Oath Keepers headed to the desert, Mack said.

Mack, who proposed putting women on the front line of the stand-off with the agents, said armed resistance was a justified response to a "totally unnecessary" show of force by the BLM.

"It was so obvious it looked like it was going to be another Waco or Ruby Ridge," Mack said, referring to two bloody sieges in the 1990s involving federal agents and armed civilians that fueled the militia movement.

"We weren't going to let that happen again," he said.

Clive Bundy vs Bureau of Land Management is one of the most interesting contemporary accounts I've read in a long time. I haven't watched much television in the last nine (9) months so I've been getting most of my news by reading online.

I'm also extremely interested in the MH370 disappearance account.
