Bonkers Over Birthers: Obama's Trip To His Home Country Of Kenya; Obama Native Born Citizen!?

    Birther Report

    4/1/2015

    Excerpt:

As reported here Obama is headed to Kenya, the place that Michelle Obama twice declared Obama's home country and Barack Obama himself proudly proclaimed as his home. Yet, some in the news media continue to bash so-called birthers and insinuate that Fox News is feeding the birther controversy even though Fox News spent less time reporting about the birther issue than any other cable news outlet in the United States.

Interesting that none in the media report the comments by Barack and Michelle.

Some headlines and excerpts from around the Interwebs:

    Ring of Fire:

    [...] Ring of Fire.

    Breitbart News:
    [...] Breitbart News.

    Times of India:
    [...]

The US President has studiously avoided going to his paternal homeland in the six years plus he has been in the White House, perhaps apprehensive that it would provide political fodder for conservative wingnuts who have doubted if he was born in the United States and questioned his loyalty to the country, aside from his nationality.

    [...]

Although Obama released his birth certificate before he became President showing he was born in Hawaii, conspiracy theorists have maintained that it is a fake. Some polls have shown that up to 25 per cent of American still doubt Obama's US birth. [...] Times of India.

Wingnuts!? Michelle and Barack are wingnuts? I concur.

The number of people that don't know if Obama is even a U.S. Citizen actually is a stunning 47%.

Not surprisingly the only news outlet to report Obama's bio that list him as born in Kenya is out of the U.K..

    Daily Mail:

    [...]

A controversy during his 2008 campaign for president, and again, albeit to a lesser extent, in his 2012 bid for re-election, was a rumor that Barack Obama the younger was not born in Hawaii as stated and was instead born in Kenya.

The charge stems, in part, from a 'fact-checking error' a literary agent made in materials promoting Obama in 1991.

The booklet, produced by agency Acton & Dystel stated that Obama was 'born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.'

The editor of the text, Miriam Goderich, took credit for the mistake in 2012, telling Yahoo News, 'There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.'

Some 'birthers' as they are known as continue to believe that Barack Obama was not born in the United States, however, and is therefore ineligible to be president based on constitutional requirements for the office. [...] Daily Mail.

Of course that claim is bunk being numerous authors confirm they provide their own bio.

And not to mention the numerous edits to the bio over the sixteen year period never "corrected" the born in Kenya.

This biggest loser award goes to Ken Walsh at the U.S. News & World Report.

    U.S. News:
    [...]

By visiting Kenya, Obama risks focusing new attention on the "birther" conspiracy theory that has surrounded him for years, based on the false idea that he was born in Kenya and not the United States. Spreading this fiction has been part of an effort to undermine Obama's legitimacy, since the Constitution requires that every president be native born. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was from Kenya. His mother, Ann Dunham, was from Kansas. President Obama was born in Hawaii. [...] U.S. News.

Native born? Last I checked the Article II presidential eligibility requirement is "natural born Citizen"...
