I don’t really want to take sides on this particular issue.
However I will state the following which is sort of in support of both sides:
(1) The full version of the Star Spangled Banner is not a very nice song. Speaks of slaves not escaping the gloom of the grave and the terror of flight. I’d like to see a better song be used for our National Anthem.
(2) Football players are not the brightest people. Moreover, people who are sports fanatics may not be that brightest either.
