Linda Tripp: Schiff’s Impeachment Circus Has Come to Town

BREITBART, by Linda Tripp — November 20, 2019

Excerpts:

Here I thought Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey’s Traveling Circus had gone the way of the dinosaurs. But, no. The Greatest Show on Earth surfaced recently at a special appearance on Capitol Hill.

The world has watched this encore performance, likely with the requisite shock and awe. And, a painful experience it has been. This extravaganza performing live on air in the House of Representatives is truly one for the books. They should have skipped the Ringmaster and the trained monkeys and stuck, instead, to legislating, something I recall former Congresses actually attempting to do.

I’m referring, of course, to the Schiff Show in the House Intelligence Committee.  Adam Schiff’s long-awaited day in the sun. His moment to shine. You will recall Adam Schiff.  Currently dual hatted as Ringmaster and Chief Clown, he was the one who went on record early on claiming he had seen evidence of President Trump’s purported collusion with Vladimir Putin and promising that, with patience, we would see it too. He has everything riding on the Impeachment Hoax, his fervent hope that if he couldn’t get Trump on collusion, he can get him on this latest fantasy. Finally.

……………………………………..

For most of us, this kangaroo court in painful to watch.

At best, it’s nothing more than political theater dressed up as constitutional duty.  Lipstick on a pig. At worst, it’s not that innocent. It’s ominously akin to a present day Salem Witch Trial with the suppressed minority victimized just as much as the target, where due process in nothing more than an abstract concept.  We see it. We know it. And we can turn it off. Walk away. Christmas shop. And think about it later.

Not so for this President.  He does not have that luxury. It is his life. The life of his family.  It has become his reality. And the latest assault of the Resistance can’t help but impede his effectiveness to govern. And that is the point. From the day he took office, everything that led up to this moment would have crippled a lesser man.

I often think about his family. His youngest son. His grandchildren. He left a successful and dare I say fulfilling life of comfort by any measurable standard to take on this thankless job. He left the helm of an empire that surely needed him, and he did so without a backward glance.

I’ve never wondered why. I believe it was and is a deep seated patriotism and love of country. He is giving back to a country that afforded him such financial success and was willing to put it all on the line to fix what he saw as broken. Unlike so many others, his run for the highest office in the land was not then, nor will it ever be, motivated by self-enrichment. That much should be clear. He has upset the well-oiled components of those who make up the swamp, the murky business of Washington as a whole, and that is his unpardonable sin.

California Builds Wall To Stop People From Leaving

SATIRE – The Babylon Bee — November 19, 2019

Excerpt:

SACRAMENTO, CA—California’s state government has announced it will agree to build a wall as President Trump has been pushing for, except this wall will keep people in, not out.

People trying to flee the socialist state in U-Hauls in search of a better life will be greeted with a large concrete structure running across all exits from the state. Modeled after the Berlin Wall, the structure will provide comfort and security to state legislators fearful of citizens fleeing for basic necessities like electricity, taxes less than 100%, and plastic straws and bags.

What’s Behind Our World on Fire?

Patrick J. Buchanan – Official Website, by Patrick J. Buchanan — November 19, 2019

Excerpt:

The issues pulling continents, countries and capitals apart thus appear to be growing, enduring, and, indeed, perhaps insoluble.

When the wildfires of California broke out across the Golden State, many were the causes given.

Negligence by campers. Falling power lines. Arson. A dried-out land. Climate change. Failure to manage forests, prune trees and clear debris, leaving fuel for blazes ignited. Abnormally high winds spreading the flames. Too many fires for first responders to handle.

So, too, there appears to be a multiplicity of causes igniting and fueling the protests and riots sweeping capital cities across our world.

The year-long yellow vest protests in Paris, set off by fuel price hikes that were swiftly rescinded, seemed to grind down this weekend to several thousand anarchic and violent die-hards.

The riots in Chile were started to oppose a small hike in train and subway fares in a country with the highest per capita income and least inequality in all of Latin America. Yet the protesters have succeeded in forcing the elected government to capitulate and write a new constitution.

Bolivia’s uprising was over an election stolen by longtime president Evo Morales, who fled to Mexico to be welcomed by the foreign minister.

Among the issues dividing Bolivians are economic inequality and tribalism — indigenous peoples living alongside a European-descended elite.

In Hong Kong, where protesters appear to be making a last stand in the city’s universities, the cause that first united them was a proposal to allow the city’s citizens to be extradited to China for trial.

While that proposal was withdrawn, the rioting has continued for half a year and now involves Molotov cocktails, slingshots, bows and arrows, and catapults to hurl bricks at police.

The latest demands include investigating and punishing police for excessive force, restoration of all liberties and freedoms Hong Kong enjoyed in the last years of British rule, and the right to elect their own leaders.

In Baghdad, the protests went violent early, and hundreds are now dead. If Hong Kong can resist mighty China for half a year, imagine what Taiwan, with three times Hong Kong’s population, significant military forces, and 100 miles of water between the island and mainland, could do to resist the rule of the Party of Xi Jinping.

A primary cause of the rioters’ rage — Iranian influence in Iraqi politics that arose among the Shiite majority after George W. Bush overthrew the Sunni regime of Saddam Hussein.

The Iranian-backed Shiite militia who helped stop the Islamic State group’s drive to Baghdad in the days of the caliphate are now less welcome. “Iranians, go home!” is a popular demand.

The recent violent protests inside Iran are rooted in both politics and economics. U.S. sanctions keep millions of barrels of Iran’s oil off world markets every day, causing surging deficits, exacerbating the plunging value of Iran’s currency and contributing to rising inflation.

The triggering event for the riots in Iran was a rise in the price of gas, which is still only a fraction of what Americans pay per gallon, but is deeply painful for working- and middle-class Iranians who are stretched to the limit.

The issues pulling continents, countries and capitals apart thus appear to be growing, enduring, and, indeed, perhaps insoluble.

Consider. The economic issues propelling workers into the streets to protest inequalities of wealth and income are occurring at a time when our world has never been more prosperous.

The ethnic and racial clashes within and between nations seem increasingly beyond the capacity of democratic regimes to resolve peacefully.

As for matters of fundamental belief — political, ideological, religious — the divides here, too, seem to be deepening and widening.

India’s Hindu majority of 1 billion seeks suppression of its Muslim minority. Secular Chinese put Muslim Uighurs and Kazakhs in concentration camps by the thousands to root out their birth loyalties and convert them into Marxist nationalists. Han Chinese are moved into Tibet and Xinjiang to swamp indigenous populations.

In Hong Kong, the struggle is ideological and political, between believers in democracy and advocates of authoritarianism.

President Trump’s America wants to secure the Southern border against an ongoing invasion of Latin American and Third World people, who could soon create here a new majority that votes reliably Democratic.

Europe resists with growing alarm a decades-long invasion of the Old Continent by desperate people fleeing the failed states of Africa and the Mideast.

In Spain, a nationalist party, Vox, vaults to third place to resist a leftist regime in Madrid that is seen as too accommodating to Catalan secessionists and refugees from across the Mediterranean.

Americans are not at actual war with one another, but our divisions are as wide and deep as they have been since the 1960s, if not since the Civil War.

We have Republicans standing united against the impeachment and removal of a president they overwhelmingly elected — by a united Democratic Party dominated by implacable ideological adversaries.

Neither authoritarians nor the world’s democracies seem to have found a cure for the maladies that afflict our world’s unhappy citizens.

Sprite ad celebrates parents helping kids be transgenders

https://twitter.com/Sprite_Ar/status/1190276391209754625

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson — November 13, 2019

Excerpt:

The revolutionary Left has captured control of not just education, media, and nonprofits; it holds considerable sway over advertising, an industry that used to be regarded with contempt by Marxists for creating unnecessary desires solely to fatten the wallets of capitalists.  And if a Marxist were to rank capitalism’s sins for pushing unhealthful products, near the top would have to be sugary soft drinks, which, however refreshing, do fatten people up with “empty calories” and spend an inordinate share of costs on packaging and distribution.

But it does appear that Sprite, a sugary soft drink produced by the Coca-Cola Company, is spending some of its advertising budget on promoting parents encouraging their children to be transgendered, the latest campaign being pushed by the cultural Left, part of the campaign to deconstruct the very foundations of society so as to clear the way for the construction of a new social order, a “new man,” as Marxists used to say before gender itself became an oppressive feature of capitalist society.

This social media video comes from Argentina last week, just before Buenos Aires held its Pride Week (hat tip: Breitbart):

Muslim AK-47s and Bombings Turn Sweden Into War Zone

“Those who depict our prophet, we’ll blow them up.”

FrontPage Mag, by Daniel Greenfield — November 18, 2019

Excerpt:

This isn’t terrorism. It’s a war. And it’s going on every day in Sweden.

Sweden is reeling from a wave of shootings and bombings with 268 shootings just this year so far. And that’s in a country of 10 million people which has crime numbers on par with some American cities.

“Sweden may have the answer to America’s gun problem,” Vox declared in 2016. Or maybe not.

These shootings aren’t being carried out with handguns, but with AK-47s. The weapon so often used as a boogeyman by gun control advocates, but rarely featured in everyday gun violence, is a staple of Sweden’s gang war scene. Along with hand grenades and other explosives rarely seen in America.

A call by the police last year asking gang members to turn in their grenades worked as well as expected.

There have been 187 bomb attacks this year. In just 1 week in August, there were three major bombings. Much of the violence is concentrated in Malmo which experienced 58 bombings in 2017.

Malmo has a sizable immigrant and Muslim population. And it’s a center of gang violence.
