Robbins v. Lower Merion School District (2010)

School district accesses students’ webcams at home (including taking pictures of a 15 year of age student getting out of the shower.

The two schools involved are located in suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Some students were even disciplined at school for behavior at home which was monitored by way of laptop webcams.  Student Blake J. Robbins is pictured below.

Full name of court case: Blake J. Robbins, Michael E. Robbins and Holly S. Robbins, individually, and on behalf of all similarly situated persons v. Lower Merion School District, the Board of Directors of the Lower Merion School District, and Christopher W. McGinley, Superintendent of Lower Merion School District.

Another lawsuit was also filed by a student named Jalil Hasan and his mother (adjacent picture).
