Obama Top Target Of Late Night Monologues In 2013, But Look Out For A Guy Named Carlos Danger…

    Excerpt:

We certainly don’t have Mitt Romney to kick around anymore.

While the Republican nominee for president was the favorite target of late night comedians in 2012, his disappearance, and a host of administration fumbles, made way for a new winner in 2013: Barack Obama.

According to the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, Obama was the butt of 288 monologue jokes in the first half of the year, more than any other public figure. Anthony Weiner was second with 120, though the period of the study ended before “Carlos Danger” entered the, um, picture. Only two members of the GOP—Chris Christie and George W Bush—cracked the top 10.

The study also found that while Republicans were on the losing side of more bits in 2012, Democrats have been walloped by the p.m.-funny men in 2013, subjected to 713 jokes, almost double the number of GOP laugh lines. Jimmy Fallon was the hardest on the Democrats, while David Lettermen kept after Republicans.

Obama is set to appear with Jay Leno Tuesday night. Maybe he’ll try to even the score…?
